In a recent Health Affairs article, Mark McClellan and Engelberg Center for Health Care Reform experts analyze the allocation of funds for comparative effectiveness research in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, arguing that priorities for new funding should include greater emphasis on experimental research, inclusion of understudied groups of patients, and dissemination of results, among others.
